I embarked on the Lean course with a very specific task for which I wanted support. I got this particularly through the incredible mentor I had in Natalie. She brought an objective, calm and capable perspective to the project each time we met, and in between meetings there was ongoing communication and support at the level I needed it – not just from a task perspective, but in discussing, guiding and building confidence in the softer skills needed to progress the project within my team. The value that I didn’t anticipate, however, was in the course sessions with Steve. Over the three weeks, and through exceptionally well balanced and well-presented sentiment, content, and technique development, I learned the value of spending more time at the outset exploring pain points and revealing underlying issues behind the surface problems, rather than rushing to solutions that had less chance of being relevant, sustainable or adopted by stakeholders. In essence, I found the course to be exceptionally well structured and delivered through the mix of presentation, interaction and on-site support, and I received far more value than I had expected – one of the best courses I’ve done.
